A thrilling race in Brazil saw McLaren’s Lando Norris stretch his title advantage with his seventh win of the season, runner-up Kimi Antonelli score a career-best P2 for Mercedes, and Max Verstappen somehow climbing from a pit lane start to the final podium place. And if those numbers weren’t enough, here’s a few more to come out of a scintillating Sao Paulo Grand Prix…
- Sao Paulo was Norris’ second consecutive Grand Prix win from pole position.
- Norris has now matched McLaren team mate Oscar Piastri’s seven Grand Prix wins this season.
- Norris won the Sprint and the Grand Prix on the weekend of McLaren CEO Zak Brown’s 54th birthday.
- Norris’ win was McLaren’s first Interlagos race victory since 2012 with Jenson Button.
- It was the seventh consecutive Grand Prix to be won from pole position this season (one short of the record set in 1976).
- Kimi Antonelli’s P2 for Mercedes was his career-best Grand Prix result.
- Max Verstappen’s P3 for Red Bull was only the eighth time a driver has finished on the podium from a pit lane start, and the first time since Hungary 2014 (Lewis Hamilton).

- George Russell in P4 was beaten by Mercedes team mate Antonelli for the second consecutive Grand Prix (having beaten him in every prior Grand Prix this year).
- Piastri in P5 missed the podium for the fifth consecutive Grand Prix.
- He now trails Norris by 24 points in the Drivers’ Championship, the largest margin of the season.
- At Haas, Oliver Bearman took P6 for back-to-back top-six finishes in Mexico City and Sao Paulo.
- Haas are now just two points behind seventh-placed Aston Martin in the Teams’ Championship.
- P6 is Haas’ best-ever Grand Prix finish at Interlagos.
- With P7 for Racing Bulls, Liam Lawson secured his sixth Grand Prix points finish of the season.
- Lawson completed the final 52 laps on medium tyres.
- With team mate Isack Hadjar finishing in P8, Racing Bulls are now 10 points clear of Aston Martin in sixth in the Teams' Championship.
- With Nico Hulkenberg in P9, Kick Sauber scored points in a Grand Prix for the 10th time this season.
- It was Hulkenberg’s best Grand Prix finish at Interlagos since 2017.
- Pierre Gasly in P10 scored in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix for Alpine, who are last in the Teams’ Championship.

- Lewis Hamilton’s DNF for Ferrari was his first retirement at Interlagos since 2012 (his last race for McLaren).
- Team mate Charles Leclerc’s retirement was his second DNF in the last seven Grands Prix (the other was in the Netherlands).
- Ferrari suffered a third point-less Grand Prix of the season (their most since 2020).
- Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto crashed out in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix of his home event.
- This was Bortoleto’s first Grand Prix DNF since Silverstone.
